For Immediate Release:
January 8th, 2001
We have had questions about jobs with
the new Administration in response to the notice PAC put out to
send in resumes.
For information on jobs which may become available, we have found
the following government publication which is available over the
internet.
Every four years, just after the Presidential election, the
"United States Government Policy and Supporting
Positions," commonly known as the Plum Book, is published,
alternately, by the Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs and
the House Committee on Government Reform. (from the "Foreward")
This publication contains data on over 7,000 Federal civil service
leadership and support positions in the legislative and executive
branches of the Federal Government that may be subject to
noncompetitive appointment...they are located throughout the US
and internationally.
The address for the Plum Book is: http://www.gpo.gov/plumbook/2000/toc.html

For Immediate Release

OPPORTUNITIES WITH NEW ADMINISTRATION
President-Elect George W. Bush has established his Transition Team
office and is currently selecting his Cabinet. It has been
announced that there will be thousands of positions to be filled
in Washington and around the country by the new Administration.
The Polish American Congress is urging all Polish Americans who
are seeking jobs with the next Administration to send their
resumes to the PAC office in Chicago. They will then be
forwarded to the Transition Team with appropriate referrals.
Send all resumes with cover letters to:
Polish American Congress
5711 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Chicago, IL 60646-6294
Please remember, it is not enough to send a resume, which may get
lost in the thousands of resumes received by the Transition Team
from eager applicants. Please indicate specific positions
for which you feel you are best qualified, and the agency or
department, listing your priority choices, if more than one.
"It has long been evident that Polish Americans are
under-represented in Washington and other places of influence
within the US government," PAC President Edward Moskal
stated. "We now have a chance to correct this
situation. Polonia has exceptionally qualified candidates.
It is time we supported our own."
